I can't believe I leave in one week!! These past two months have crawled by so stinkin slow! Within the past couple of weeks I have applied/gotten my visa (which was way too expensive), bought health insurance, opened a new credit card for my trip, opened a bank account in Australia, figured out the tiny details of my trip AND figured out who I'll be living with. I promised myself I wouldn't do any investigating…because I really wanted the surprise factor…but, I couldn't help myself. I'm living with two Australian girls, one Australian boy and a guy from France! Eek! They all seem really cool, and I'm hoping I can practice my French. It's a 5 bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and a big common area. It was recommended by a few friends that had studied abroad in Gold Coast so I figured it was my best option. One thing I already hate…the cost. The cost of living in Australia is rediculous…but I guess that's why their minimum wage is three times as much as ours. Oh well…

I thought 2012 was the year for crazy events that have no explanation…but now 2013? Hoping this isn't any indiction for what is to come. So many people around me have been affected by monstrous acts of violence and it makes me cringe. Am I just getting older so I am noticing these things or are they actually occurring more frequently? Whichever of the two, I wish they would stop. Praying for my sweet friend Allie as her family goes through this hard time…
